A Faithful Calling

Have you ever had buyers remorse? Like, you’ve bought something and as soon as you got home with it, you wanted to return it. Maybe it was more money than you wanted to spend, or maybe it was not the right color. Either way, many people have this happen to them. I’ve had it happen with several items that I have bought. Believe it or not, I’ve actually accidentally bought a truck at an online auction and as soon as I bought it, I had buyers remorse. Even more so when I had to tell my wife what I had done.

The Lord has purchased each of His people, and He paid a steep price for them. It was a price that none of us were willing to pay, nor were we able to. God paid that price, and He does not get buyers remorse. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 tells us that God is faithful to His calling in our life, and He is surly not going to change His mind.

In our shame, we try to hide from God when we mess up, thinking that He will be ashamed of us. The truth is, though, that God knew what He was getting when He paid the price for us. Since that moment, He has been working in and through us to mold us into the person that He has created us to be. He doesn’t turn His back on us or shun us, rather He wraps His arms around us and comforts us - because that is who He is.

Let’s live in God’s grace, resting in His love this week.
