New Year, Same God

Each year many people all around the world make New Year’s Resolutions - things that they are going to do to better themselves. Most people fail to keep these resolutions, some even before the end of the first day. Most resolutions have to do with how a person looks. They want to look ‘better’, so they are going to eat better or work out more. I don’t know about you, but my idea of eating better is that the food tastes better!
While we are looking to better ourselves, we need to remember that the God who created each and every one of us is the same today as He was yesterday.

Malachi 3:6 says “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”

God does not change, which means that His grace is the same, too. The grace that saved us, is still enough for us today. If we set a resolution and are unable to keep it, God’s grace still has us. If we choose not to have resolutions, it’s okay. Our God is still the same God, offering the same grace to each and every one of us. Stay strong and keep praising the Lord.
